On December 22, 2025, RusinDisplay completed the installation and commissioning of eight custom 55-inch transparent OLED touch displays for a museum featuring Sanxingdui culture in China. The museum’s identity is not disclosed at the client’s request.

The installation creates a circular interactive area where visitors can try on digital representations of Sanxingdui masks, explore artifact information, and learn about individual mask components.

Application: Interactive museum exhibition
Display layout: Eight 55-inch portrait screens in a custom circular arrangement
Main interaction: Digital mask try-on, artifact details, and component introductions
Project delivery: Display supply, capacitive touch integration, structural design, installation, and commissioning

A Digital Mask Visitors Can “Wear”

The most distinctive part of the experience is the Mask Try-On function.

Visitors first select a Sanxingdui mask and switch between the available viewing angles. They then stand behind the transparent screen and position their face within the displayed mask.

From the front, the illuminated mask and the visitor’s real face appear in the same view. A companion can take a photo that makes the mask look as if it is being worn, without requiring a physical replica or wearable equipment.

The effect comes from the transparent OLED’s layered viewing structure: the screen presents the digital mask in the foreground while the person remains visible behind it. This gives visitors a simple photo experience that connects them visually with the exhibition theme.

The function does not rely on facial tracking or an augmented-reality camera. The visitor changes the mask view and adjusts their position behind the screen to create the alignment.

From the Photo Experience to Artifact Information

The interface provides two information functions alongside Mask Try-On.

Artifact Details gives visitors access to background information about the selected mask or object. The opening screen remains visually focused, while visitors who want more context can open the detailed content themselves.

Component Introduction focuses on individual features and parts of the mask. It helps visitors move from viewing the complete object to examining specific details.

The interface therefore supports three clear visitor actions:

Try on a digital mask and take a photo.
Read detailed information about the selected artifact.
Explore the mask’s individual components and visual features.

A 10-point capacitive touch system allows visitors to select these functions directly on the screen.

Why the Displays Form a Circle

The project uses eight vertically installed 55-inch Custom Modular Transparent OLED displays. Each screen presents a different mask or artifact within the same interactive zone.

The circular layout allows visitors to approach the installation from several directions and move naturally from one display to the next. It also gives the exhibition a central visual feature rather than placing the screens against a conventional wall.

This layout introduced an important structural requirement: the backs and sides of the displays remain visible as visitors walk around them. Ordinary wall-mounted cable routing would have left power and signal cables exposed within the exhibition area.

RusinDisplay designed custom black frames for the eight displays. The cables are concealed inside the frames and continue beneath the floor, keeping them out of the visitor route and preserving the clean appearance of the circular installation.

Display and Touch Configuration

Each unit uses a vertically installed 55-inch LG transparent OLED panel with a portrait resolution of 1080 × 1920 pixels.

The panel provides 43% transparency, allowing the surrounding exhibition space and visitors behind the screen to remain visible through its transmissive areas. Its 120 Hz refresh rate supports smooth changes between mask views and animated content.

The screen assembly also includes:

10-point capacitive multi-touch
4 mm tempered protective glass
Anti-glare surface treatment
Full HD portrait display
Custom frame integration

These components form the visible and interactive part of each exhibition station.

Computing Platform

The Custom Modular display can be configured with different computing options, including eighth-generation Intel Core i7 and 12th-generation Intel Core i9 platforms.

This project uses the higher-performance 12th-generation Intel Core i9 configuration with:

8 GB RAM
256 GB storage
Windows 10 Pro / Windows 11 support
Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi
Bluetooth 5.0

The computer runs the touch interface and multimedia content used for mask selection, information browsing, and component introductions.

Structural Design and On-Site Commissioning

RusinDisplay’s work covered the display hardware and its integration into the exhibition space. The delivery scope included:

Eight transparent OLED displays
Capacitive touch integration
Custom circular structural design
Concealed cable routing through the frames and floor
On-site installation
Hardware and interaction commissioning

The screens, touch components, computers, supporting frames, and cable routes were planned as one installation. This allowed the eight independent stations to share a consistent appearance around the circular visitor route.

An Interactive Format for Cultural Exhibitions

The project combines a visual photo experience with self-guided information browsing. Visitors can begin with the digital mask try-on, then continue to the artifact details and component explanations.

Transparent OLED is central to this presentation because it allows the digital mask and the visitor behind the screen to appear in the same view. The circular arrangement then expands the experience across eight different displays while keeping the exhibition area visually open.
